Had an okay ride today. We practiced bending into the corners. Deuce did pretty well but he was so wired today due to the cooler weather and not being ridden yesterday. He's getting much better about going into the bridle, but he's not so good about it when he's fresh and excited. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend of riding.
After we rode, deuce got a massage! He's so spoiled.

Training Exercises - keeping the juices flowing
- diagonal - leg yield 3-5 steps - diagonal - etc.
- 3 steps shoulder in - circle - 3 steps - circle etc.
- walk, trot or canter a clover leaf
- trot on rail - working pirouette at walk - trot on rail
- leg yield quarter line to rail or along diagonal
- turn on the haunches
- rein back
- two figure eight 10m circles at walk or trot
- stretch circle
- shorten/lengthen stride at the walk
- change rein bxe or exb
- canter half pass or leg yield
- spiraling in and out of circle at walk, trot or canter
- counter canter loop - keep flexion
- canter right lead - jump - canter left lead
- half circle, return to track, trot or canter/countercanter
- extended canter to loosen back
- lots of trot canter transitions
- serpentine at trot or at canter with change of lead through trot
- haunches in at the walk or trot - use leg aide when hind leg comes under!
- spanish equitation figure 8 or other obstacles
- walk or trot a square
- lots of trot walk transitions to work on half halt
- trot/walk figure 8 - trot large circle, change bend, walk small circle
